About the event
The iSTAND Survivor Camp is a week-long residential summer camp designed exclusively for teen and young adult survivors of parental child abduction and their families. This years camp theme is THE FORGE. Using the steampunk aesthetic—a fusion of Victorian ingenuity and futuristic resilience—this camp provides a transformative environment where survivors reclaim their strength, build community, and chart their futures.
Set against the backdrop of Camp Sumatanga, Alabama, Survivor Camp offers a hands-on, immersive adventure where participants engage in creative expression, problem-solving, and personal growth, all within a world of invention and discovery.
Why Steampunk?
Steampunk is all about resilience, ingenuity, and reinvention—themes that resonate deeply with IPCA survivors. Like the inventors and explorers of the steampunk world, these young people have faced unimaginable challenges and are now forging new futures.
